SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTING PROCESS

  • Agency identifies procurement objective

  • Decision is made by Contracting Officer (KO) to sole source to JLVIT

  • KO issues an Intent to Award letter with project description to JLVIT’s SBA Representative (Michael Youth@sba.com)

  • SBA reviews the project and determines that JLVIT is capable of performing the work

  • KO and JLVIT start formal negotiations and development of project plan

  • Contract awarded upon completion of negotiations

JOINT VENTURES IN WHICH JLVIT HAS A QUALIFYING INTEREST

  • The foregoing advantages equally apply to any SBA approved Joint Venture which may include an entity that is not a small business
